A scooter is an excellent vehicle to have for driving around. One reason why a scooter is so great is because it is very economic. With gas prices so high people need something with good gas mileage just to be able to afford to get around. The average economy size car can get approximately 30 miles to a gallon. Certain 50cc scooters can get an amazing 100 miles per gallon! That alone is a perfect reason to purchase a scooter. Fill it up once and it would probably make it back and forth to work for an entire week if not two.

Another great reason to have a scooter for driving around is that they can fit into areas that cars can not go. Sometimes it is fun to drive around by lakes, parks, and grassy areas. There might also be some interesting tight spots to explore. A scooter can easily fit into these areas. A car can not. Dirt roads are great to tread on as well. Scooters can handle the dirt roads.

The most popular reason to have a scooter for driving around is because they are fun! There is no feeling that is greater than being free on a two wheeler!

Talk to your parents about everything from personal finances to health insurance and make sure you’re up to date on their doctors and medications in case of an emergency.
Secure their home: Teach your parents how to lock up tight and consider looking into a home alarm for their house (tip: Google terms like “home security atlanta“). Talk to their neighbors about their care and go through the house at least once a month to identify potential security hazards like broken windows or slippery floors.
Talk to their doctors: Particularly for parents with mobility issues, healthcare is a long and strenuous process. Talk to your parents’ doctors as much as they allow you and make sure they know you’re somewhat responsible for their care. They’ll help you out in times of crisis and can also recommend specialists to help with other issues.

Scooters have been around us since decades and in present hard economic times, it is a good idea for us to start using them again to save some money.

Here we are discussing few reasons as to why a scooter may be best for us:

1. Low insurance premium- The insurance on scooter is quite cheap as compared to cars.

2. Savings on fuel & repairs- Many scooters will give you about 180 miles a gallon and that’s pretty much! Scooters don’t need big repairs and if at all required, it comes quite cheap. Quite a saving when compared to 500 trips for a car repair!

3. Avoid those traffic jams – In case you live quite close to your workplace, you can use scooter instead of car as there is no use of sitting in a bumper to bumper traffic!

4. Easy parking – Scooters are quite easy to park. You won’t have to waste your time looking for a parking space.

5. Eco-friendly & low cost-Most of the scooters emit less of emissions as compared to truck or car so they cause much lesser environmental pollution. Scooter cost very less as compared to a car and you can get a good one at around 1800 bucks or so.

A drive on a scooter will be less stressful for you and you’d save lot more bucks for the coming year.

Scooter selection is important. Each scooter caters to different needs. Some scooters are better for specific types of people while others are better for other types of people. While this is a very general statement it holds very true. There are many different reasons for why someone would need a scooter. Some are temporary but most are permanent. Some people need more help with their arms while some don’t have control of their arms at all. Finding the best scooter is important because without the right selection someone’s life may become very miserable.

There are a few things that people should think about and consider when it comes time to purchase a scooter. Probably the most important and most basic fact to think about is how long the battery life of the machine is. Some scooters are much more power hungry than others and as such have a relatively low amount of battery life. If the person in need of the scooter likes to stay at home then battery life isn’t as important. However, for the scooter bound who really like to travel battery life becomes extremely important. Also consider the cushioning of the seat. The more comfortable the seat the better off you are!

Five Tips For Choosing The Proper Scooter For You

Purchasing a scooter will save you money on gas and besides they are a lot of fun. However, they are not cheap. It is important to do research and get the right scooter for your needs. There are a five things that you should consider when looking for the right scooter.

Who will ride the scooter?

There are scooters made for kids and there are scooters made for adults. The kid versions are much cheaper, however they do not have the power to move an adult around. Even in the adult scooter category most scooters are only made to carry a maximum of 180 pounds. Those who weigh more will have to look for scooters specially made for people who weigh more than 180.

How fast will the scooter need to go?

There are two basic types of scooters, gas and electric. Electric scooters typically go only 8 to 25 miles per hour. People who want to go faster than that will need to buy a gas powered scooter. Gas powered scooters will keep up with city traffic and can even reach highway speeds.

How far will the scooter need to go?

Most electric scooters go 12 to 15 miles per charge. If traveling farther than that a gas powered scooter is the only way to go.

Will you be driving in the city or off road?

Electric scooters work well for city driving. They drive at speeds that will get move you at a pace that works for short distances and they can easily making to nearby destinations and back home. Electric scooters with motors smaller than 300 watts do not work for large hills or dirt roads though because they lack the power. For off road driving gas is the only way to go.

How much money do you have to spend on a scooter.

Electric scooters start as low as 100 dollars, but the cheapest gas scooters start at 1000 dollars. Also, gas scooters typically cost much more to drive in fuel cost. The exception being if the scooter is hardly ever ridden. This is because the battery for an electric scooter can easily cost 260 and only last three years. If the scooter is only ridden a few times a year that is a massive cost per mile.

While part of a scooters appeal is the care free nature so often exemplified by scooter riders, most scooter riders still take safety precautions beyond those required by the letter of the law. Scooter jackets, considered bulky by some, provide a level of safety in skids regular outerwear simply doesn’t account for. With built in padding that minds mobility, scooter jackets are specifically designed with the vehicle in mind, giving them an inherent advantage in protecting riders against the hazards of the road. Still, when arriving at a purchase decision, some jackets are better than others. Here’s what to look for:Proper fit The most important consideration when purchasing a scooter jacket is how it fits you as an individual. People come in all shapes and sizes; unfortunately, jackets do not. This means specific brands may not apply to certain body types. It is essential that the padding falls where it is intended to on your body, or else the entire purpose of wearing protective gear is rendered ineffective.Visibility Perhaps the easiest concern to account for is also arguably the most overlooked. Too often scooter riders opt for jackets that overlook visibility in an effort to be fashionable. Though darker colors may be slimming or stylish, few passer-bys will notice how you look when steered or knocked lateral in traffic, particularly in the evening and night hours.Material Obviously, higher quality material will cost more money. When it comes to safety, however, it’s not time to suddenly get cheap. If something feels cheap, spend the extra couple bucks and to upgrade to something more durable.Comfort If your jacket causes you active discomfort, it may serve more as a safety hazard than precaution. Make sure you have a full range of mobility as it pertains to steering your scooter, with no pinching or tightening that could unintentionally throw you off course.

Step 1: Find a scooter that is right for you. It may be used it may be new, but make sure make and model you select passes a proper security inspection. If you are in the process of buying from an independent seller, be sure to get the scooter checked out by a licensed professional before agreeing on a purchase. You will also need to make a decision as to what size scooter you will be interested in.Step 2: Register your scooter. Don’t worry, this is not nearly the monetary hassle required to register cars. If you purchase your scooter from a full-service dealer, there is a reasonable chance registration can be handled on site, or at least get the process started, at no additional cost. When registering, be sure to ask if there is a prerequisite license necessary to ride it in that state. If so, you can take care of if the license and registration process in one clean trip.Step 3: Insure your scooter. Insurance may not be required, it varies by state, but if it is you will be legally obligated to go through the process. If you are driving a scooter as an auxiliary vehicle to your car, you can simply contact your insurance company and notify them that you would like to add a scooter to the policy. If a scooter is your only current means of transportation, you will need to file the necessary paperwork.Step 4: Whether a license is required or not, we suggest completely a safety course regardless. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s Rider Course and Scooter School both come highly recommended, as scooters and motorcycles require similar skill sets. Not only will a course boost your confidence in regards to scooter proficiency, it may also provide financial benefits by lowering insurance premiums.Congrats! After the completion of these 4 simple steps, you are a fully equipped scooter operator ready for the thrill and convenience of 2-wheeled motorized transportation.

Both have 2 wheels and travel amongst packs of heavily fortified automobiles when used in daily transit. Considering the bad rap motorcycles get for safety concerns, due scooters offer a safer open aired alternative?Though motorcycles do not provide nearly the same safety installments as 4 wheeled vehicles, the sheer size differential between standard scooters and motorcycles does provide better safety on a circumstantial level. Bigger tires, in particular, make motorcycles less susceptible to potholes, speed bumps and any other form of pavement irregularity, all of which can pose potential crash risks for 2 wheeled motorists, when not accounted for. Careful driving and full attention can help to mitigate this risk, though at times natural road hazards are simply unavoidable.Size can play to a safety advantage, as the increased maneuverability into and out of small spaces can come in handy for savvy drivers with quick reflexes. Arguably the biggest hazard for scooters and motorcycles alike is other drivers on the road, many of whom may not be concerned with your safety and wield their vehicles carelessly or aggressively.Scooters offer a safety advantage, a major advantage at that, because they do not travel as fast as motorcycles, thus are not subject to impact at extremely high speeds, particularly smaller scooters (i.e. 50 CC or 100 CC as compared to 250 CC). This inherently gives the driver more control and more time to make engage in accident avoidance. On the other hand, impact velocity is a two way street. If a car is traveling above a certain speed when it comes into contact with a scooter or motorcycle, it will make little difference whether your bike was in motion or completely idol. To ensure low risk 2-wheel transit, consider taking a training/instructional course on how to handle scooter or motorcycle before testing your skill on the open road. Knowledgeable, competent and alert drivers are the best drivers, regardless of their chosen method of transportation.
